Bruce Springsteen was one of the first concerts I ever attended. The 2 things that struck me the most that night was that he didn’t have a huge barrier and security separating himself from the crowd, he had stairs leading into the audience!! The other thing was how he could hold the attention of his audience so deliberately while introducing songs that told stories of the challenges he faced with his father’s depression and with authority. Not to mention the marathon show and energy level of the band. As a 16 year old, this blew my mind and put me on a musical path that would guide my life. ‘Greetings From Asbury Park N.J. – Celebrating Springsteen: Unplugged’, is not your typical tribute show with an 8 piece band playing all the songs like on the records, but instead a tribute paying homage to the song writing of Bruce Springsteen, and how his music inspired me and so many others. Working with Matt Horner and Gene Hardy, I’ll be stripping down the music and telling some stories about Bruce’s life and career. And although we focus mostly on the early years, there are a few surprises thrown in!
