SUMMARY:No More Silent Battles
DESCRIPTION:A thoughtful and eye‑opening screening of No More Silent Battles invites our community into an honest conversation about dementia—an experience many individuals and families navigate quietly and often without clear support. This event creates space to break that silence\, share stories\, and connect with meaningful resources. \nFollowing the film\, Dr. Jenny Ingram will lead a Q&A and discussion\, offering insight into dementia care\, advocacy\, and the realities facing families today. \nAbout the Film\nNo More Silent Battles follows four families as they navigate the emotional and practical challenges of dementia care. Their stories highlight the essential role of trained home‑care providers and the urgent need for stronger policies and funding that support care at home. The film is both a reflection and a call to action. \nAbout the Director\nDr. Jenny Ingram is a Geriatric Medicine Specialist whose leadership has reshaped dementia care across Ontario. She founded the Kawartha Centre to bring international Alzheimer’s research trials to smaller communities\, and her academic work at Trent and McGill has focused on equipping Primary Care Physicians to better diagnose and support seniors. \nHer advocacy led to the creation of twelve fully funded GAIN Geriatric teams—an achievement that has attracted new dementia‑care specialists to the Central East region and strengthened community‑based care. Dr. Ingram’s contributions have been recognized with awards from Trent University\, Seniors Care Network\, and the Ontario Medical Association\, and she received an Honorary Doctor of Science from Trent University in 2023. She currently serves as Chair of the Ontario Dementia Care Alliance. \nNo More Silent Battles is her debut film\, amplifying voices too often unheard and encouraging all of us to be silent no more. \nProgram\nAfternoon Screening • 1:30 PM\nDoors Open • 2:00 PM\nFilm • 2:45 PM\nQ&A with Dr. Jenny Ingram \nEvening Screening • 6:30 PM\nDoors Open • 7:00 PM\nFilm • 7:45 PM\nQ&A with Dr. Jenny Ingram \nIf You Can’t Attend\nIf you are unable to attend but wish to view the film or support the advocacy effort\, please contact Info@NoMoreSilentBattles.ca.
