SUMMARY:Community Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:Masterclass for Strings\n \nDate & Time:\nMarch 21\n@\n3:00 pm\n–\n5:00 pm\n\nTickets\n \nPlay Along with Victoria Yeh\nAre you an amateur or emerging string player? Do you struggle with breaking through barriers to your playing? Are you looking for inspiring motivation in your practice room? \nJoin celebrated violinist\, Victoria Yeh\, at Collingwood’s Simcoe Street Theatre for a 2-hour open community Masterclass. Bring your instrument and play along in this group lesson where we’ll learn easy ways to start improvising. \nImprov is more than playing off the page… it’s a new relationship between you and your instrument that will serve you in ANY genre \nIf you’re a classical player\, you may ask “why improv? When will I ever need this?” Research has shown that different parts of our brain activate when musicians play on the page vs. when we improvise. Tapping into this other part of your mind can help unlock new pathways to success and importantly can help you turn off your analytical brain so you can get overcome old habits that are holding you back. \nNo previous improv experience necessary. Everyone is welcome\, though you will get the most out of this class if you can play your instrument independently. SUMMARY:Love Letters
DESCRIPTION:Love Letters\n \n\n	Date & Time:\n\n February 13\n –\n	February 14\n	\n \n Tickets\n \nTheatre Collingwood invites audiences to experience one of the most beloved and quietly powerful plays of the modern stage with A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters. Intimate\, witty\, and deeply moving\, this timeless work offers a rare glimpse into a lifelong relationship shaped by words\, distance\, and time. \nLove Letters unfolds through a series of letters exchanged between two friends who grow up together\, drift apart\, and remain forever connected by their written correspondence. Spanning decades\, their letters capture moments of joy\, disappointment\, longing\, and affection\, revealing how love can endure in unexpected and deeply human ways. With humour and tenderness woven throughout\, the play speaks to anyone who has ever written\, received\, or treasured a meaningful letter. \nFor this special presentation\, the roles are performed by talented members of our local community\, adding a uniquely personal dimension to the storytelling. Seated simply onstage\, the readers allow Gurney’s beautifully crafted words to take centre stage\, drawing the audience into an honest and heartfelt exchange that feels both universal and intimately familiar. \n\nFriday\, February 13 at 7:30pm — Dean Hollin & Tara Kivlichan\nSaturday\, February 14 at 2pm — Chelsea Coulter & Jason Murphy\nSaturday\, February 14 at 7:30pm — Jake McArthur & Shirley Joost\n\nPerfectly timed for Valentine’s weekend\, Love Letters offers a refreshing alternative to grand romantic gestures.
